Online Classes Versus Traditional Classes

Since the emergence of online learning, there has been a discussion on whether online classes are better than traditional classes. There have been competing schools of thought with valid arguments for and against both.

In the case of distance learning, it may be most appropriate at colleges and universities. Research data consistently indicate that students strongly prefer distance education.  However, our experience has shown that there is an increasing demand for online learning for small businesses, creators and community activists.

Distance learning allows students to balance their other commitments more effectively, at least in cases they are adult learners, commuters, and part-time students. They don’t believe that they sacrifice a quality education for the convenience of utilizing distance learning. Small businesses and creators are using distance learning to grow their audiences, convert sales, provide  customer support, educate their customers and drive revenue.

However, both traditional and online learning comes with advantages and disadvantages. Traditional, in-person learning requires a little more planning to accommodate things like travel and childcare. Online learning does not provide the same level of interaction with classmates.  Course creators must be more intentional about creating an interactive environment that simulates the live classroom.

Here at the Nonprofit Founders Academy, we provide a range of experiences to suit your individual needs.  Our offerings include asynchronous learning, where you can learn at your own pace, with mechanisms to keep you on track.  We provide group coaching and one on one coaching for students who want to take a deeper dive and have a more personalized experience.
